Biography
Dominic Thiem is one of the most successful and best-known tennis players of his generation. The exceptional Austrian athlete has made a name for himself with his passion, tireless commitment and outstanding strokes on the court.
His greatest career achievement is winning the 2020 US Open, where he became the first player in over 70 years to turn around a Grand Slam final after trailing 2-0. With a total of 17 ATP titles, including prestigious victories at tournaments such as Indian Wells, Vienna and Kitzbühel, as well as two final appearances at the French Open and a final at the Australian Open, he is one of the greats of tennis. Dominic also reached 3rd place in the ATP world rankings and played his way into the hearts of millions of tennis fans worldwide. He is one of only two players to have managed to beat the “Big Three” (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic) several times.
On October 23, 2024, Dominic Thiem ended his extraordinary career at home in the Wiener Stadthalle in front of almost 9,000 enthusiastic spectators.
After his career, Dominic is now devoting himself to his passion projects Thiem Energy and Thiem View.
Thiem Energy is a renewable energy platform that helps people to reduce their electricity costs while using sustainable electricity that is 100% produced in Austria.
Thiem View is Dominic’s own sunglasses brand, which he launched in 2023. The sunglasses are characterized by their extremely high quality and are made from 100% sustainable materials. New models are set to be released in the coming years, including a sports line that has been specially developed to meet the requirements of a wide range of sports.
In the future, Dominic plans to found the Thiem Academy, a tennis academy with which he wants to promote young talent and pass on his experience to the next generation.
