1993

Dominic was born on September 3, 1993 in Wiener Neustadt, about 45 minutes from Vienna.

1997

Dominic picked up a tennis racket for the first time in 1997. Of course, nobody could have guessed at the time that he would one day be competing for the most prestigious titles on the world’s biggest tennis courts.

2005-2011

2005-2011 Dominic makes a name for himself at a young age. He reached the final of the junior competition at Roland Garros and played his way up to second place in the junior world rankings in the U18 category.

2015

In 2015, the time had finally come: Dominic won his first ATP title in Nice. This success marked a decisive step towards the top of the world rankings. It remains the only tournament of his career that he will win twice in a row.

2018

In 2018, Dominic is already one of the best tennis players in the world. This year, he celebrates his greatest success to date: he reaches the final of Roland Garros, the most prestigious clay court tournament in the world. Only Rafael Nadal, the “King of Clay”, can stop him.

2019

Dominic sets new highlights in 2019. In addition to reaching another final at the French Open, where he is once again defeated by Nadal, he wins his biggest title to date: the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, also known as the “fifth Grand Slam”. In the final, he defeats Roger Federer, one of the greatest players of all time.

2020

2020 is set to be Dominic’s year – he wants to realize his biggest dream: winning a Grand Slam title. At the beginning of the year, he plays his best tennis and reaches the final of the Australian Open. He defeats Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev, among others. In the final, he meets Novak Djokovic, arguably the best player of all time. After an epic five-set thriller, however, Dominic is narrowly beaten.

September 2020

September 14, 2020: Dominic gets another chance. He reaches the final of the US Open, where he plays his close friend Alexander Zverev. Zverev starts strongly and quickly leads 2:0 in sets. But Dominic fights back and wins 7:6 in the fifth set after a nerve-wracking match, crowning him US Open champion and fulfilling his biggest dream. As he writes in his book “My Greatest Moments”, he considers his career complete with this title.

2021-2023

2021-2023 Dominic struggles with a serious wrist injury, which he suffers at the ATP tournament in Mallorca. Despite all his efforts, his wrist never fully returns to its former strength.

2024

In 2024, Dominic makes the decision to end his career. He plays ten more tournaments, including the US Open, which is particularly close to his heart. He plays his last match in a sold-out Vienna Stadthalle in front of almost 9,000 enthusiastic fans. An emotional and worthy farewell.

2025

In 2025, Dominic begins a new chapter in his life. He is devoting himself to the projects close to his heart and pursuing the goal of making our planet more sustainable and helping others. With this new mission, Dominic is continuing his success story off the tennis court.

His greatest career achievement is winning the 2020 US Open, where he became the first player in over 70 years to turn around a Grand Slam final after trailing 2-0.
